AC Magnetic Field Measurements
Wherever there is AC current, there is AC magnetic field which can be measured in mG or nT.
Our calibrated EMFs testing equipment cover a wide range on the spectrum, from 5Hz to 1 MHz:
– Low frequency analyzer ME3851 A Freq. range: 5 Hz to 100 kHz. Measuring range: 0.1 – 1,999 nT
– 3D-LF analyzer with data logger NFA1000 Freq range: 5 Hz – 1000 KHz
– Gauss meter 4100 series
AC Magnetic Field profile around a house on real-time basis measured and logged by NFA1000. According to Building Biology Standards, the green zone is of “no concern” and the yellow zone is of “slight concern”.
AC Magnetic Field radiated by high voltage underground cable plotted on Google-Map, measured and logged by NFASoft and GPS
IBE Safety Standards (SBM-2008)
|Exposure Type||Units||No Concern||Slight Concern||Severe Concern||Extreme Concern|
|AC magnetic fields (LF/VLF/ELF) [100 nT = 1 mG]||nT||< 20||20 – 100||100 – 500||> 500|
The most effective remedy is to switch off the power supply source or keep a distance. Otherwise shielding of AC magnetic field is quite difficult and costly. It requires electrical engineering skills.
Between 300 and 400 nT (3-4 mG), the possibility of cancer after long-term exposure increases by 3 folds.
