AC Magnetic Field MF
Where ever there is AC current, there is AC magnetic field. The higher the current consumption, the higher the magnetic field strength. Any appliance that is powered ‘on” draws current, and therefore generates magnetic fields (B-fields) which could travel 1 m away from the source. AC magnetic fields generated by high-voltage power lines can travel more than 100 meters. The good news is that it dies out with the square of the distance from the source. AC magnetic fields frequency range is considered LF; from 5Hz to 400kHz. Low-frequency measuring devices display the AC magnetic fields in nT or mG.
